I once posted a song about 'where my love had gone', for you. Here on this little blog. Now, if I were to reach you... it would be to let you know that There is a warmth that has never burnt out. The absence saddens me, but I know that now is not my time. Tonight I heard a song that brought you back to me, to my thoughts. I confess however, of late you haven't been far away. And whether the feeling I feel is to be happy for you, to be you and happy with where you are, or dream of that day I will leave the ocean behind to plant my feet with you. It is a little foggy, but right now, I'm sailing and I'm not sure whether or not I'm drifting closer, or floating past the inlet... this resonated with me. And I believe it's for you.
I’ve been out on the ocean
Sailing alone, travelling nowhere
You’ve been running on hard ground
With just you around
Your heart beats the only sound
Sailing alone, travelling nowhere
You’ve been running on hard ground
With just you around
Your heart beats the only sound
But I know once in a while we will find
The sound of your heart beats with mine
And when it’s time, I’ll leave the ocean behind
The sound of your heart beats with mine
And when it’s time, I’ll leave the ocean behind
So I’ll look out for a lighthouse
See through the fog, search the horizon
You’ll be like in a movie where everything stops
You can see clearly now
See through the fog, search the horizon
You’ll be like in a movie where everything stops
You can see clearly now
But I know once in a while we will find
The sound of your heart beats with mine
And when it’s time, I’ll leave the ocean behind
I’ll leave the ocean behind
The sound of your heart beats with mine
And when it’s time, I’ll leave the ocean behind
I’ll leave the ocean behind
‘Cos I know once in a while we will find
The sound of your heart beats with mine
The sound of your heart beats with mine
And someday the crash of the waves will be far away
And I will sail in your arms
‘Cos when it’s time I’ll leave the ocean behind
And I will sail in your arms
‘Cos when it’s time I’ll leave the ocean behind
And so if this does reach you... I wonder, dream, in spite of dream, for whatever comes of this, if anything - to say that I wish you only every happiness.
