do the world a favour

... and please listen to this.

I stumbled across this video whilst perusing The Jezabels film clips and fell in-love, again. It's kind of a ritual with this lady.
I love Ms Welch and her darling Machine.

And so, I witnessed a gorgeous, unexpected cover of Mario Winans 'I Don't Wanna Know'. You can find it on youtube.

You won't be disappointed.

late night listening

I love this album, and my love for The Jezabels themselves was only reinforced when I saw them support Katie Noonan and The Captains, earlier this year at Brisbane's Powerhouse.

Listening to 'Easy To Love', right now.

One of the songs, or perhaps it's my mood, that's gently moving my night along and I haven't had a glitch in motivation this evening with my freelance. Thank God! So many delays of late - it's about time luck swung my way.

To me, this song tells a story of love, loss, mistakes and desire. What more does the recipe for a good song require?

Easy does it. Easy to love.

Check them out:

easy to love

{my humble heart}

man unknown

Thought I'd share a couple of progressive studio photos for all you lovely followers - considering I nearly never show my work.
You'll have to excuse the dodgy iPhone (Fi-fi) photos.

a progressive close-up

I haven't taken a picture of the finished product yet, though shall in due time. Does anyone recognise this face? I picked the photo to reference at random... and am not sure who it is - a famous Indigenous Australian?

Find out? Let me know!

Time to make For The Quill And Ink art + design really come out of the woodwork. Many tasks ahead and settling on an identity is just one... all you designers, artists and perfectionists out there will know how painful that can be. You want to design your own corporate i.d. but you are your own worst critic.

Currently looking for more material to adorn my studio walls with. I can never seem to have enough sources of inspiration. Some may call it hoarding... I like to think it's at least themed, tasteful hoarding.

Having said that though, there's always room for change - and why not dream BIG?!

A knitted asparagus brought a smile to my face today.

Too cute.

dear john*

I'm at a different place in my life right now - one door has been closed over, and I'm not sure which one is opening. But if I read the labels on the door, I'm pretty sure the one I'm meant to take is the one with my name above it.

Time to reinvent my journey.

When there is time to listen, if there ever will be, 'Dear John*' - I'd like to convey words very much like the ones above.

Love is love,
and nothing can change the times it flourished.
