Every child loves colour, stickers and putting things in inappropriate, unconventional places. A sweet sort of rebellion can be seen in one of Yayoi Kusama's latest installations.

This exhibition feature really speaks for itself - perhaps a physical and visual metaphor for the way children fill the world with colour.

Titled The Obliteration Room, you can pop down to the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane to see the technicoloured spectacle yourself. Kusama's exhibition runs through to March 12.

I'll be checking this out next week!

fotografía friday

The first installment of Fotografía Friday sees a recent image taken on my New Year's break. The scene sees a gathering of friends and their families in the shallows of Port Parham beach, South Australia.

The last sunset of 2011. Captivated by the beauty and marvel of the sunlight, the way the golden rays stretch through the late afternoon sky. The silhouettes of the gathering creating that sense of unity as we see out another year... to embark on a brighter sunrise. 2012.

revamp :: part one

It's time to get busy in 2012. To make the most of my love for prose, pencils and pictures... ie. the written word, art + design and photography - what embodies For The Quill And Ink.

To spruce up the blog for 2012, I'm introducing regular themed posts to generate and retain more interests, and to hopefully inspire.

The first themed post shall be donned 'Fotografía Friday'. Showcasing an image that emanates something beautiful, intriguing, controversial, absurd or inspiring, or all of the above.
