watercolour

Saturday finds me up early, skyping with my dear cousin and Godson. Pushing a few design bits and bobs around and enjoying the cooler morning with a cup of Irish Breakfast tea and delicious golden crumpets.
Whilst on my usual blog perusal I came across the prettiest nails I have seen - watercolour DIY nail painting via A Cup Of Jo. Delicate and intriguing, with the right amount artist embellishment. On to the ever-growing spare time to-do/experiment list!
I'm off to enjoy the Autumn sun and light breeze by the river.
Happy Saturday!

bobby pins, bread vans & brogues

Thankfully today was much cooler than the weekend, and so I believe Autumn must be on it's way back. Come on!
I'm loving the idea of bundling up in scarves with wild bobby-pinned hair, the smell and taste of freshly baked sourdough baguettes and stepping it out in brogues.

Feel me?

some days

... I'd fancy getting about in something like this.
Comfortable creativity, yeah?

wannabe

So a little bit of free advertising for papier mache mag, but the real intent of sharing this pic is that I am totally loving the rocking styling of this tiddly-wink. Shit, if I was that cool at 5 I'd have taken the world over already.
Heck, all the kids in this magazine are little hipsters.

Check it here.

Crafty, cool.

While there's only a smidge of Autumn left in the Southern Hemisphere... I would have to say outfits like this, are perfect for days like these.

día uno

Day One of the Mercedes Benz Australian Fashion Week, here in Sydney, saw the lovely Casey Staar and I pound the pavement from the Shangri La, to The Establishment, to the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Circular Quay and back to the Shangri La. An afternoon of various designer collections, previewed with the chance to buy, backed by stunning views saw two very stylish and happy ladies strut their stuff through the city.
Hesitant to take too many pics of unreleased collections (pre runway show), I for now snapped a whole lot of gorgeous scenic Sydney snaps. Beginning with my morning coffee run to the heights of the afore mentioned hotels. Mid afternoon until dusk allowed some beautiful shots, instagrammed to perfection.
Coffee, Tea & Me - Redfern
Inner city view of Centrepoint Tower.
Georgia Osbourne's latest collection, on racks. The Harbour Bridge in the background.
The one & only, Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The Lady herself, The Sydney Opera House.
One of my favourite shots so far.
Model, tourist, designer, model, designer. Oh - just the passing foot traffic ;)
A little layering, at dusk.
And well, Day Two has begun, so the lookbooks and goodies accumulated will have to be shared a little later.

Happy Tuesday!

Designed by Design Army, the following is for the Editorial spreads for the Winter/Spring 2012 cover story of Washingtonian Magazine's Bride & Groom issue.

estilo sunday

Style inspiration for me these days comes in the form of all things vintage, block colour, hues of blue and orange. Mustard and calico, tan and leather, tortoiseshell and Popular Penguins... and of course the odd luxurious sparkle. In one of my daily blog reads, I came across this video for Kate Spade, and instantly fell in love - with the short film, the fashion and accessories styling, the interiors... Ah! Team all of the above with New York and the whimsical tune of Soko, and you have this week's edition of estilo sunday. Right up my alley.

Go on - Dress me up and cover me in books.

estilo sunday

Issued on your Monday, but nevertheless, the week's estilo Sunday greets you with the sweetest of fairytale inspired necklines.
For the innocent, the quirky and the alternative - here you have the Peter Pan collar. I can't get enough :: shopping all things Peter Pan collared as we speak. I can see my Autumn wardrobe having a little more of the whimsical touch, loaded with quirk.

Second star to the right, and straight on til morning?

estilo sunday

I first saw these on the subway in New York City, now - I covet them. There's just something about them - comfy, rustic, fitting that alternative fashionista trend.
I know it's summer here in Australia... but I really, really want a pair. From Princess Di, to Kate Moss and the average Jane, they seem to be striking a rather fashion forward yet British-traditionalist chord.
Whatever your colour or cause - festivals, city block-hopping, mountain trekking, puddle-jumping or trend-setting - there's sure to be a style for you. From collaborations with Jimmy Choo, to short, heeled and snow styles; you can team these with Hunter's signature line of wellie socks to keep your toes even warmer.

These green Original Talls are just my caper.

They could take me anywhere, and I dare say I need a pair of wish wellingtons. You can find them and all their counterparts here.

before I lay me down to sleep

I must don specs not too unlike these and meet with Mr Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and read all about that Love In The Time Of Cholera.

{You fancy too?}

estilo sunday

It's a little late, due to my recent vacation, however, I'd like to introduce another weekly blog installment, for the fashion fiendette's out there. In another creative escapade of various perusals, I came across these sweet, sensual sets by Ulyana Sergeenko. Oh so feminine, with that subtle edge that takes the look that little bit higher.

Do you Vogue, darling?

Old Hollywood, a la Euro influenced glamour?
Premiere worthy.
