While I'm studying away here today, I'm also perusing my favourite blogs... as always. I found the perfect, easy, affordable doormat for my apartment. A little bit of geometric design mixed in with cheap goods, spray paint and getting my mittens a little messy - perfect DIY right?

And while the original DIY, by Elsie Larson from A Beautiful Mess, was posted to be a festive project - I think it would look fabulous all year round by my front door!

Next stop - Bunnings.

pick-a-pallet

There's a few DIY dreams floating around in my mind of late... and the idea of recycling pallets/crates seems to tickle my fancy. They can be used for so many different purposes and as you can see below, can be rather aesthetically pleasing in one's humble abode.

Wine racks, wall gardens, movable outdoor couches, coffee tables, bookshelves... the possibilities seem endless.

I'm loving the rustic, earthy look and  how it can be effortlessly teamed with the clean, crisp, minimal or eclectic interiors.

I'm my usual daily blog reads I came across an inspirational post by Elsie Larson from A Beautiful Mess. I sometimes feel so bogged down with work, uni and other commitments, wanting to spend time with friends and family and ultimately refine my skills and hang on to the strength of the notion that "I know where I'm going"... but in all honesty life sometimes gets the better of you and you have to remember (as Elsie said);

It takes time (sometimes many years) to develop a vision and learn your "craft". Wherever you are, don't rush the learning process. The more time you spend developing your skills and style, the better.

So let life carry you away a little and dip your finger in every jar... the sky is the limit and soon enough you'll find your niche.
