So, I feel it's appropriate at this time to say a wee farewell to the structured segments of my blog :: fotografía friday & estilo sunday, until further notice. As you may have noticed, these segments generally don't appear on said days, due to my schedule, and so a more organic approach I think is best for now. Whilst I like the idea of having an expected post every week (like many of my fellow bloggers do), my creative ramble and inspirational sharing is best done in an unstructured fashion. Probably keeps you on your toes too ;)

So here's to the organic creative ramble, with a dash of design and illustration too.

When is fotografía friday ever on a Friday, you say? When this lady is organised and not working in the fine industry of hospitality or freelancing around the webosphere... so, without further adieu I give you a catch-up of sorts on the last two scheduled fotografía friday's ::

The Granite Belt at sunset, south of Ballandean.

This first photograph is one of my favourite road trip photos. Taken on a whirlwind 24hour road trip with my sister, driving home to surprise and visit our parents interstate.

I believe this is on the way back to Brisbane, as the sun is setting over the Granite Belt wine region. If you are so inclined, you can peruse my old road trip post here. I do love going home.

Countryside views, via train.

This second photograph was taken on a journey home around June last year, however this trip I took the train and bus ride back to my parents rather than drive myself. The fields were so green and while it was slightly overcast the journey was just what I wanted as I travelled home - big seat to myself and plenty of time to relax and enjoy the scenery. I particularly like the self-reflection caught in the train window as I took this shot.

A little nostalgic today, I am... must plan a road trip and few days in my hometown again soon. Especially as Autumn arrives and it cools down... my favourite time of year. Ahhh.

A catch-up on last week's edition of fotografía friday.

Like I said, life's been a little crazy, but I thought we could all do with a quaint setting and burst of bright yellow to bring some sunshine into your life. I quite enjoyed my time by the window bar, sipping a delicious coffee at Dandelion & Driftwood, the day this was taken.

It's the simple pleasures... ahhhhhh!

For this week's fotografía friday, may I introduce (once again) my beloved family dog, Spitfire. 14 years young, and still taking a gorgeous shot. I took this photo whilst home last week, and I think it turned out ever so nicely. Still so full of character... I don't know how we could have done life without her. Blessed.

fotografía friday this week is a home edition, as I am in New South Wales visiting my parents, and the family pets.

This little rascal was my shadow this morning of my 26th birthday. My sister and I hand raised, the aptly named Typhoon from 3 to around 9 weeks, as he was found on a construction site in inner city Brisbane. My Mum came to visit, fell in-love and then adopted him. It's quite ironic that he sat still enough for me to take this 'portrait perfect' shot. All other moments he was stealthily stalking me or tearing around, from upstairs to down, like a literal typhoon.

He's got me on my toes (or is wrapped around my ankles), that's for sure. Just look at the fierce concentration.

This week's late edition of fotografía friday was taken a few weeks ago (and instagrammed) on my ferry ride home from Spanish. Here you see the Southbank precinct, Performing Arts complex and the Brisbane Eye. I haven't been in to black & white photography for some time, but I like the way the light and dark contrast are truly accentuated in this shot with the Inkwell filter, and a mystery and vibrance is projected amongst the varying textures.

Just thought I'd share a little of my city with you.

fotografía friday part six, comes straight from the cockpit of the RAAF Hawk my little brother flew to the red centre of this diverse country I live in.

You can see a 'thumbs up' from my brother and the wondrous, World heritage listed  Uluru on the horizon and the surrounding literally red centre of Australia.

This weekly feature seems to be taking on an aeronautical influence, but the truth is this is simply a great shot - I had to share.

Another aerial installment for this week's fotografía friday, was taken on my Christmas break. 'Up where the air is clear, up in the atmosphere!' en route from Brisbane to Inverell. I love the colours in this photo and have to admit I have a secret fascination with clouds. Here they seemed so crisp, light, fluffy, clean and bright. To me they conjure fantasies of kingdoms and lands that we just can't get to... and as a child, I always imagined 'what if I could?'.

A self-confessed cloud gazer. I can't help it.

fotografía friday part four, inspired by the reflection post for my Photo-A-Day task is one of yesteryear. Here you see me as a wee one, with my cousin Christopher, at the one and only country marvel 'Green Valley Farm'. A theme park made of tin, a museum, mini golf, a zoo of sorts and a humungous waterslide, in the middle of nowhere. Strange, but still a fun place to visit. They like to call it a 'Bush Oasis'... and well, I'm not too sure about the 'Oasis' part, but it certainly serves a purpose for adults and children alike, to this very day.

fotografía friday part three, was taken on my trip home for Christmas. My little brother flew up to Brisbane, to fly us home to my parent's in country New South Wales.

This image is taken down the wingtip, as my brother gave us the circling scenic recap over town. It's so lush there at the moment. There's nothing like it.

This week's instalment of Fotografía Friday sees you looking at the famous Manhattan skyline, New York City, from the George Washington Bridge.

In my recent travels to New York City, it was this afternoon and the view that is captured here, that allowed me to truly marvel and feel like I was officially in The Empire State. I had already been in New York for nine days, gallivanting around the City with a Man who is nothing short of wonderful, seeing many sights and being consumed by the lights and sounds that is undoubtedly only New York.

It was here I had that 'wow' moment. I wasn't seeing the skyline in a book, a magazine, in a cinema or on a television screen - my very own eyes absorbed this view.

The first installment of Fotografía Friday sees a recent image taken on my New Year's break. The scene sees a gathering of friends and their families in the shallows of Port Parham beach, South Australia.

The last sunset of 2011. Captivated by the beauty and marvel of the sunlight, the way the golden rays stretch through the late afternoon sky. The silhouettes of the gathering creating that sense of unity as we see out another year... to embark on a brighter sunrise. 2012.
