food for thought

Today, I read small stories of Hope and then looked at myself in the mirror. I was resolved to ask The Universe, God, question upon question if for nothing but to clear my mind.

Let insecurities fall away and the light of hope, thankfulness and love be your source of energy for the day.

Let Hope get you high.

give me books

Any day of the week.
Without forgetting to live one's own life, sometimes it's a little nicer, a little easier to get lost in the fantasy that the printed word has to offer.

Indulge in another world, pick up a book and perhaps... join us?

lunch

January 27 : Photo-A-Day

Lunch

Lunch
Today my lunch looked something like this.

colour

January 26 : Photo-A-Day

Colour

A section of my bookshelves.

I like to colour code my bookshelves, and thought that the hues of orange and pinks here was worthy of the Photo-A-Day entry donned Colour. A few fave titles there too.

something i'm reading

January 14 : Photo-A-Day

Something I'm reading

The just finished, sourcing and future read.

From left to right:
Eat Pray Love - Elizabeth Gilbert (just finished... and still referring to beautiful quotes) /
Anthea Paul's girlosophy ORACLE (sounds like a sap for a near 26 year old - but the principles within apply regardless of age) /
The L-Shaped Room - Lynne Reid Banks (next read - a secondhand bookshop find, for some reason I just had to buy).

perception

I flipped to this page in my oracle this evening.
I'd say it's pretty spot on.
And sometimes it's nice, no matter how trivial you feel oracles or books of affirmation and enlightenment are, to open to a page that resonates with where you are at present in life.

well wished

I once read that there is 'no such thing as powerful as the intensity of a child's wish'... and in my www. travels this evening I came across the most gorgeous wish list created by one half of a blogging pair I follow, when he was a wee one.
It's bound to make you smile, if not chuckle a little aswell.
Sweet isn't it?

You can check out this lovely pairs blog just here.

read this

It's not an eating-disorder feeding brainwash - it's a no-B.S. reality check on the world around you. There is SO much we don't know... about everything really, but what you put into that body of yours deserves a voice, a warrant and the all-clear.

You don't have to go crazy-veganesque if you don't think you can - baby steps, and hopefully you'll be more conscious of what you and your consumer dollar supports.

bienvenue avril

It's April, c'est Avril!
Can you believe it? Already?
Well, I think it's divine. Autumn will finally arrive... and I am ever so glad. It'll be a little windier, a little cooler and the world will be filled with colour. Those beautiful hues of autumn... fall if you will.
Easter is upon us soon, and it will be time spent with family. How excited I am for five days of this.
The Easter bunny shall visit (yes, he still visits me), a religious holiday will be mourned and celebrated, hot cross buns and creme eggs will be eaten... hahhh - three weeks to go!
Through found images, I'd like to share things that I love about April, this time of year and things that just seem to fit the theme.
Dear Peter Rabbit.
Leaves on the plain trees turning in Inverell. My hometown.
Easter egg hunts, country lanes and wicker baskets.
Toy bunnies and real bunnies... little biddy ones.
Autumn leaves...
... worn, leaf-crunching Mary Janes.
This collection of autumn-inspired creative tid-bits.
Enjoying good books, immersed in autumn.
Wee owls.
This charming and mysterious illustration.
Bookshops, bicycles and rain.
And listening to Laura Marling.
A Happy Monday and an amazing April ahead to you, and you and you.

buttermilk, buttermilk

Whilst I sit here in my arctic office, I daydream of warm, buttermilk pancakes and their heady aroma; I long to finish my current read I Have A Bed Made Of Buttermilk Pancakes... and I ponder this gorgeous font by Jessica Hische, which is aptly named 'Buttermilk'.
It's a buttermilk kind of day.

Oh, I'm so weird.

And wonderful.

ever so lovable

It's either over-flowing creativity and inspiration, or I'm bordering on delirium... but I have a few wonderful things I'd love to to share with you.
They're too lovely to keep to oneself.
These divine Seville oxfords from Minnie Cooper...
-this inspiring and wonderfully coloured workspace
- the portfolio inspiration I get when I look at this gorgeous design book... great goosebumps!
- this beautiful, bright print by Argentinian artist, Mara Caffarone
- THESE scrumptious looking cupcakes... with oodles of icing. Just how I like it!
- this beautiful Moon Diamond print from Jason Dean...
And lastly, the way this photograph from the latest online issue of frankie magazine makes me feel... I can almost smell the wheat crop and feel the gentle warmth of the sun on back.
But, most importantly -
can you feel the love?

state your creative quest

This is mine.

a captured heart

I just came across this heart stopping jewellery piece by Black Spot Books, and I'm sure my life has changed.  I have to have it... when I can spare the hefty (but oh so worthwhile) price tag.
It is a one off piece - yes, every little book, page and binding is unique to the individual necklace.
They really do speak for themselves.
Hint, hint.
Hint, hint.

I guess they'd say a lot about the lucky person able to don such a piece too... oh, they're so beautiful I can almost feel the texture of the leather!
